Terrence "Terry" Whittle
December 2, 1947 - February 4, 2023
Tribute
Terrence “Terry” Wayne Whittle passed away peacefully on February 5, 2023, at the age of 75. After receiving his Bachelor of Science at UBC, Terry spent many years working for Finning Tractor, first in Vancouver and then in Campbell River. He left the coast over 30 years ago, moving to Penticton, where he became co-owner of the Beachside Motel. Most recently Terry lived in Osoyoos and worked at Collision Craft. Here, Roger, Grace, and their children became his hugely supportive Osoyoos family–they were all very fond of each other. While Terry had no children of his own, his niece and nephews Shannon, Nick, and Vince, and all their boys, were particularly special to him. Terry was an avid golfer, an enthusiastic dart player, and a keen sports fan. He had a sparkling sense of humour. This gentle man will always hold a place dear in our hearts.

Terry will truely be missed. No matter what he was always a positive person.
I had know Terry for over 30 years and considered him one of my best friends.
From: Mac & Iva McDonald
Relation: Good friend
My husband was Parts manager in Victoria when Terry was the same in Campbell River and they got to know one another & enjoyed each others company at meetings & tournaments held within Finning. We moved to Kamloops and then to Penticton. Before we moved to Penticton, we met at their motel by Skaha Lake. After we moved,
whenever Terry had an appointment with a doctor, he would phone & he & Mac would
go for coffee at McDonald’s in Wal Mart. Well before the move, Terry asked Mac to be
Executor of his Will. Then he married & his wife had some sort of dementia where she
transferred all his savings to her family. Terry was the kind of person when he took on a
responsibility – he followed through…so we never go to visit him again until his wife passed. Mac had a sound friend in Terry. They chatted over coffee & helped the world
be a better place. He was a dear soul! Mac & Iva McDonald.

Dear Barb, I am so sorry for the loss of your brother, Terry. I met him through business when he co-owned the The Beachside Motel in Penticton. When I told my daughter who had only met him once that he had passed, she said sadly ” he was such a NICE man” and he was. A respectful, gentle soul and a life well lived. May he rest in peace
