February 25, 1940 - November 8, 2023

Tribute

On Wednesday November 8, 2023, Mr. James (Jim) Herbert Adams of Osoyoos passed away peacefully with his family by his side choosing to take his last ride the way he lived his life, with dignity, grace and on his terms.

He was predeceased by sister, Patricia (Pat) and brother, Keith.

James will be fondly remembered by his loving family including wife, Linda; sons, Tom (Kristy) and Scott; stepchildren, Robyn (Lou) and Trevor (Denise); grandchildren, Trevor (Kasandra), Brandy (Aaron), Brian and Heather as well as seven great-grandchildren, many extended family and friends.

Born in Winnipeg, he grew up and started his family in Calgary, eventually moving to Vancouver

where he met & married Linda. He lived & loved driving his limo’s until ALS took him from his work and moved to Osoyoos B.C. to live out his life.

James (Jim) was very involved in his community over the years. He volunteered his time with Jaycees which included time as Senator #9346 with JCI. He was an active Rotarian in Calgary, spent many years as President of the Calgary Tourist & Convention Bureau working closely with the Calgary Stampede Board, Mayor Ralph Klein and many other dignitaries involved with the growth & attractions of Calgary.

He was a perfect gentleman, living his life with grace and an amazing sense of integrity & humour.

You were my Best Friend..
I consulted you with everything, and I took your advice to heart.
I did not realize how much I will miss you until know
It is so hard to find people like you – I thought we were suppose to enter the great unknown together, but you beat me to it! Get settled in and I will see you soon!

I have some fond memories of working with Jim when we were in the insurance business together. Over the years we went our separate ways reconnecting again in 1983 when Jim was president of the Calgary Tourist and convention Bureau and I was on the board.
We came together again in Osoyoos recently. Always enjoyed his company. We did have some pleasant times together. To Tom and family please accept my sincerest condolences.
