Deborah James

September 3, 1955 - May 24, 2024

Tribute

On Friday, May 24, 2024, Deborah ‘Debbie’ James of Osoyoos, passed away after her 3 ½ year battle with cancer with her husband by her side, at the age of 68. She is predeceased by her father, Dave Luneng and brother, Dwight Klimosko.
Debbie is survived by her husband Mike James; son Richard James; mother Helen Luneng; sister Penni Mackenzie; brothers Joe and David Luneng; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Debbie started working in construction and later became a real estate agent, before finally settling as a teacher’s aide, where she truly found her place and was greatly appreciated by her students.

Debbie loved to get together with her friends; was a regular at the Summerland Racquet Club where she played tennis; and was an avid bridge player and lover of all games. She also loved to travel, having the opportunity to visit many parts of Europe, the Caribbean, and Hawaii.

Her adventurous spirit and good nature will be missed.

From: Dawn Richards
Relation: Lakeshore Racquets Club

I was very sad to hear the news about Debbie. She was a trooper on and off the tennis court and she always made a point of visiting her “second home” at Lakeshore Racquets Club even when she was unable to play. Debbie will be deeply missed, not only for her contributions at our club but for her devotion to her students that she helped over the years. Condolences to Mike and all of her family.

My sincerest condolences go out to Mike, Richard and family. I too was so saddened to hear this news. Deb was such a dear friend over many years of friendship both on and off the tennis court. We had many great memories together as tennis partners that I will always treasure. Deb had many talents,… she was a great organizer, very witty, clever, funny and very loving towards her friends and family. I will miss you dear friend ♥️
