Tribute

ZIEBART, Carole Ann (1944 – 2010)

It is with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts we inform you that Carole completed her journey here on earth on Saturday, January 30, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Carole is lovingly remembered by her husband Ken Ziebart, her mother Phyllis Coxworth, her children Tracy (Chris) Poulin, Theresa Ziebart, Ryan Ziebart, and her grandchildren Luke and Conor Poulin. She was predeceased by her first husband Terry Higgins (1972) and her father George Coxworth (1996).

Carole’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ellard, Christine, and staff of the Cancer Centre of the Southern Interior, Dr. Myslyk and staff at the South Okanagan General Hospital, Carmin Eberle and staff of Nurse Next Door, and our dear friends Karen and Denis Fleming for all their love and support.

Carole was an avid golfer, gardener, and cook. She was a long time member of the Fairview Mountain Golf Club. Carole also loved bird watching and cruising.

A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday February 4, 2010 at St. Edward’s Anglican Church, with the Rev. Patrick Reid officiating, followed by a reception at Fairview Mountain Golf Club.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the BC and Yukon Breast Cancer Foundation, and the BC Cancer Agency (Southern Interior) would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve known Carole for almost my whole life. I have grown up, along with her daughters, in their household. I knew Carole not only as Theresa, Tracy and Ryan’s Mother, but later on I got to know her as a woman; a strong and very courageous woman that I admired very much. Carole had a zest for life – she loved golf and she loved to travel with Ken. She will be missed!
