Ruby Witzel

Tribute
On Wednesday September 8th, Mrs. Ruby Rogene Witzel of Oliver passed away peacefully, after a long fight with Leukemia at the age of 68 years.
She was predeceased by her brother Tom Swearingen of Eugene, Oregon.
Ruby will be lovingly remembered by her family including her husband John; sons, Morgen (Marilyn) Witzel of Kent, England and Marshall (Carol Ann) Witzel of Penticton; grandchildren Tyler of Vancouver and Ashley of Penticton as well as her brother Richard Swearingen of Eugene, Oregon.
Ruby was a freelance writer and wrote for various gardening and health publications as well as the Oliver Chronicle. She traveled throughout British Columbia extensively as well as the western United States.
Her affiliations included the Oliver United Church, The Oliver Women’s Institute and the Garden Club.
Ruby was passionate about her pets, gardening, the outdoors, travel and music.
A memorial celebration service will be held on Thursday September 16th from the Oliver United Church at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Ann White.
