Lily Lil Little

March 12, 1922 - December 25, 2010

Tribute

On Saturday December 25, 2010, Lily “Lil” Little-Cook passed away at the South Okanagan General Hospital, at the age of 88 years.

Lil is lovingly remembered by her family including daughter Marilyn (Joe) Marsel; sons Bill (Lienne) Cook, Ron (Deb) Cook, Bill (Tania) Little, Ken (Diana) Little, Bob (Hilary) Little and daughter-in-law Doris Little. She was also blessed with eighteen grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Lily was predeceased by her parents James and Jean Young, her three brothers Jim, Bill and Robert, her first husband Andrew Cook, infant son Leonard, her second husband John Little and son Lloyd Little.

Lil fulfilled what she called a full life. During World War II she proudly served our country as a rivet catcher at the Vancouver Shipyards. When she moved to Oliver she worked in the packinghouse. Later she helped look after the orchard on the farm on Island Road. Lil was a devoted volunteer with the Oliver United Church Women’s Group.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 31 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oliver United Church, with Pastor Ann White officiating.

With great appreciation from the whole family, any donations may be made in Lil’s name to the Oliver United Church (P.O. Box 938, Oliver, BC V0H 1T0).

Condolences and tributes may be directed to the family by visiting www.nunes-pottinger.com.

Dear Marilyn and family

I just wanted you to know how much your Mom was loved and respected by all who knew her. The name Lily means one who is beautiful on the inside and the outside and your dear Mom was all of that. I have always admired your Mom’s energy, her amazing work ethic, her genuine interest in others and her compassion. We will all miss her lovely smile and gracious manner. May the wonderful memories you have of her, help you through this difficult time.
