Thomas Tom Oberg

September 23, 1940 - June 6, 2012

Tribute

On Wednesday June 6, 2012, Thomas Arthur Oberg of Oliver passed away at the South Okanagan General Hospital after a short battle with cancer at the age of 71 years.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary.
Tom will be fondly remembered by his brothers Robert (Diane) Oberg and Ron (Swede); son Mike (Debbie and her daughter Emilie); daughter Denise (Jeff) Miller and grandchildren Sydney, Chayce & Camryn Oberg and Hunter & Blake Miller whom often called Tom; Poppa or Pops as well as many extended family and friends.
Tom was a man of many trades in between working for twenty nine years at SOGH in the maintenance department and camp life in Wapasu.
Over the years Tom enjoyed travelling with Mary, fishing with Ellery and hunting with the boys.
He also was very involved and held office with the Father Downey Knights of Columbus as well as Msrg. Flynn Assembley.
Prayers will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Friday June 15, 2012 at Christ the King Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Gabriel at 11:00 A.M. Saturday June 16, 2012 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery. A reception hosted by the CWL in the church lower hall will follow the interment.
