Tribute

          Born in London, England on April 11^th 1922, Bette went to be with our heavenly Father January 17^th 2013 at the age of 90 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, George Edward, along with three of her four sons:  Keith, Gary and David. Bette is survived by her son Richard Ian and three daughters:  Theresa Gogolin, Mary Pierce, Cora Prosser, along with 29 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Bette met her husband in 1944 while he was serving in the Canadian Armed Forces; the couple were married December 24, 1944 in London, England (under a bomb raid).

            Bette immigrated to Victoria, Canada in 1945, where the family lived for many years, in addition to many other communities throughout British Columbia, before retiring in Oliver, in the mid 1990s. 

            Throughout her life, Bette entertained many people as “Bette the Busker” in parades, Canadian Legions and various communities.  Bette held a dear spot for the Variety Club here in British Columbia, successfully fundraising many dollars for this cause.  Bette met many people throughout her travels, forming numerous close friendships.  Bette has left a lasting impression and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

            In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Variety Club of British Columbia.  

A funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Ron Holden at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday January 23^rd, 2013 at the Lumby Christian Church. The eulogy will be delivered by Richard Ian. Interment and committal will follow at the Lumby Cemetery. A reception at the church reception hall will follow the committal.
