Tribute

On Friday April 12, 2013, Mrs. Ada Florence Shepherd (nee Forsyth) of Penticton, BC passed away peacefully. She was predeceased by her husband, William in 1973 after 33 years of marriage. She will be missed by her family: her daughter Linda (Bill) Plaskett of Osoyoos; her son David (Lesley) Shepherd of Victoria; grandsons Bill Jr., Conal and Kaegan; granddaughter Cheryl; great-granddaughter Tairyn, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Ada was born December 5, 1912 in Langham, SK. She taught in a one room school house in Saskatchewan and farmed for several years before moving to Penticton in 1947. There she and Bill operated the Handy Store on Main Street across from Pen High until 1956. In later years she worked at Toys and Wheels (to the delight of her grandchildren). Ada spent the last few months at Mariposa Gardens in Osoyoos. The family would like to thank the staff at Mariposa, as well as Dr. DeVries for their excellent care, which made her time there as easy as possible. Her final resting place will be beside her husband at Lakeview Cemetery in Penticton. A memorial at her home in Penticton will be held at a later date.
