Tribute

Debbie Brunelle, of Oliver, B.C., passed away in Penticton, B.C. on January 16, 2016.

Debbie was born in Willingdon, Alberta, on May 23, 1957.  She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Brunelle on October 6, 2013 and her father, Peter Hamaliuk on June 13, 1980.

She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her mother, Jean and step-father, Lawrence Kuly, her sister, Lonnie Atchison, and her niece, Kelty Atchison and Kelty’s fiancé, Cameron MacEachern.

Debbie is also survived by her stepsons, Les Brunelle and his wife Mary, Shawn Brunelle and his wife Madeline, and 6 step-grandchildren.

Debbie will be remembered by her many friends in Oliver for her tireless efforts to improve the quality of life in the community, whether her passion for golf saw her immerse herself in  arranging tournaments, a round or two with the ladies, setting up card and pokers nights, or simply dropping whatever she was doing to share a glass of wine with anyone who stopped by.

A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at Cherry Grove Estates Hall in Oliver, B.C., on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Oncology Department at the Penticton Regional Hospital, 550 Carmie Avenue, Penticton, B.C. V2A 3G6.  Condolences and tributes may be directed to the family by visiting www.nunes-pottinger.com

I would just like to say how very sorry I am to hear the sad news of Debbie’s passing. She and Harold were two people we met soon after we moved into Cherry Grove and enjoyed getting to know them both. Debbie was loved by everyone and such an asset on past social committees and in the golfing world. She loved life and I know the past two years were very difficult for her. her struggle is over. I pray God’;s peace for all the family in the days ahead. Sincerely, Betty-Jo Hetherington
