Tribute
On Saturday July 1, 2017, Mrs. Mary Pohl of Oliver passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at McKinney Place Extended Care at the age of 85 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Ben.
Mary will be fondly remembered by her loving family including sons Bob (Debra), Edwin (Janice), Walter (Sharon) and daughter Ivy (Rocky); twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Over the years, Mary worked at the Cannery, the packing house, orchard farming and as a homemaker.
She was very active at St.. Paul Lutheran Church with Ladies Aid. Mary loved camping, trips to Reno, Germany and various place across Canada. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crochet, fishing, socialising and entertaining.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Hamilton, all the staff at McKinney Place, John and Daryn at Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Service for the care that they showed to Mary and the family.
A funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Darren Siegle at 2:00 P.M. Saturday July 8, 2017 at St Paul Lutheran Church. Interment and committal will follow at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery. A reception in the church reception hall will follow the interment.
Donations are gratefully accepted for the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
