Leah Wilson
January 22, 1980 - November 25, 2020
Tribute
It is with heavy hearts the Wilson family announces the passing of Leah Rae-Lynn Richards Wilson; Mother to Jesse, Sister to Cole, Aunty to Cyrah and Daughter to Lee Ann. Half Sisters Maria, Celia and Dayna. Leah will be fondly missed by her Uncle Rob, Aunty Jen, cousins Lyle, Elizabeth and their children.
Leah will be especially missed by her multitude of friends she grew up with in Oliver and Fraser Lake. She was a magnet at bringing friends together for good times and making memories. She was a “Social Butterfly.”
Leah began her life in the Vanderhoof, BC Hospital and then lived in Fraser Lake, BC and Faro, Yukon before her move to Oliver, BC at the age of 8.
Her specialty was in tourism where she met so many people from around the world who held a special place in her heart. She loved camping and around the campfire gatherings. Road trips with her many obliging friends as she never had her own drivers license.
Leah resided with her family at home until her last few remaining days where she was then in the comfort and loving care of Moog Hospice House in Penticton. Her life was lost to a long battle with Cancer.
Leah was always on a journey to somewhere; may she find her “Shambhala” over the rainbow.
Forever in our Hearts!
“Somewhere Over The Rainbow / What A Wonderful World”
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Dreams really do come true
Someday I’ll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top
That’s where you’ll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
And the dream that you dare to,
Oh why, oh why can’t I?
Well I see trees of green and red roses too,
I’ll watch them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Well I see skies of blue
And I see clouds of white
And the brightness of day
I like the dark
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people passing by
I see friends shaking hands
Singing, “How do you do?”
They really sing, “I…I love you”
I hear babies cry and I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more than we’ll know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world world
Someday I’ll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top
That’s where you’ll find me
Oh, somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dream that you dare to
Why, oh why can’t I? I?
