J. Ryan Palmateer

April 1, 1977 - June 23, 2021

Tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ryan Palmateer on June 23, 2021, at the age of 44 years. He was a son, brother, nephew, uncle, and a great friend. Ryan will be forever loved and remembered by his parents, Sandy and John; sisters, Amanda and Melissa; brother, Jesse; nieces and nephews, Emma, Taylor, Isabelle, and Raistlyn; Aunt Helen and Uncle Ed. He was predeceased by his Grandma Ruth and Grandpa George as well as his uncle Rick.

Ryan in his younger years enjoyed many things. He could be found fishing at the bridge, out on the golf course and at the hockey rink where played goalie on a Rep team. Ryan was a dedicated employee of the Osoyoos Bottle Depot. He was a cheerful, kind, reliable person and was always quick with a humorous comment. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Osoyoos Bottle Depot.

“Those who knew Ryan, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives”

I’m so very saddened to hear of the passing of my friend Ryan. He was such a kind man. Ryan was a couple of years older than me and when we were in school he would always make the effort to help me feel accepted and included. That meant a lot to me. As we grew up I always know that he would be to the depot when I would stop by and have a great talk with him. He took me fishing and he was always good to me. Ryan was such a genuine person. I never had to wonder if he was telling me the truth because he was always honest.
I am just getting off quarantine and was unable to attend Ryan’s service. To Ryan’s family, I’m so very sorry for your loss. Ryan was a good man and the way he cared for people really reflected how cared for he was. Im going to miss my buddy. Rest in Paradise my friend
