May 6, 1927 – September 25, 2022
We are saddened to announce the passing of our dearest Jean. She was born in North Hatley, Quebec and passed away in Mariposa Gardens Care Home, Osoyoos, BC.
She is predeceased by her husband Roy Horne, brother Gerald Taylor (& wife Muriel). Also grandchildren Dennis & Steven Reitan.
She is survived by her sister Peggy Servage, stepsons Andy Horne (Susan), Roy Reitan (Pauline); grandchildren Amanda, Tommy, Dale (Jennifer) & Randy (Jenny); great-grandchildren Paula, Erik, Anna, Linda & Elsi; niece Suzie and nephews Randy, Peter, Mike, Andy & Chris.
Jean worked as a Bank & Loans Manager for CIBC in both Vancouver and North Vancouver. She retired to work with Roy delivering goods up and down the coast of British Columbia on the MV Prince Andrew.
Jean & Roy loved to travel. Whether by the trailer, train or boat they saw most of North America and sailed from Fogo Island, Newfoundland to Vancouver via the Panama Canal. They went to Mexico down the Baja with a caravan of friends in trailers. When finished sightseeing Jean & Roy bought 200 acres at Red Lake, BC, and built a panabode cabin in the 1990’s. .She volunteered for years in various roles on the Strata Council for Southwind, her condominium complex on Martin Drive in White Rock. She was a willing & devoted secretary for all of Roy’s many clubs and interests as well as spending countless hours researching family history on the Taylor and Horne sides. Jean was always at her happiest surrounded by friends and family.
Whether you knew Jean as a friend, Step-Mom, Grandma, or Great Grandma she was a loving, caring person who always put everyone before herself. We are all blessed to have been able to call her ours.
