Garvin Jones

September 7, 1937 - November 19, 2022

Tribute

On November 19, 2022, Garvin George Jones peacefully passed away at home with his beloved wife, Bonnie, at his side.

Garvin was born September 7, 1937 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan to George & Leta Jones.  He was survived by his brothers, Ron Jones (Sandra), Gerald Jones (Gail).  Three children, Laura Lloyd (David), Kim Jones, Brad Jones (Stephanie).  Four grandchildren, Jason Lloyd (Amanda), Michael Lloyd (Lisa), Jamal Lloyd, Kamila Jones and two great grandchildren Stella and Sully Lloyd.

Garvin lived in Eastern Ontario, Florida, and settled in Oliver BC for the last 26 years. He was industrious which contributed to his success in the many businesses he owned.  Bible principles were the focus of his life and as a result he built a successful marriage and family unit.  During his life he learned many trades, some of them being a lumber jack, welder, heavy equipment operator and gold miner.  He was a licensed diver.  He shared his knowledge and hard work ethic with his children and as a result, they could all operate heavy equipment at a young age.

He was a generous and spiritual man.  The family home was open to anyone.   He volunteered his time and energy to help build many Kingdom Halls of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Eastern Ontario.

His quick wit remained till the end.  Garvin was a premier joke teller, could come up with a play on words, or pun at any time. He was the Jones family inventor, entrepreneur, mentor and advisor.  While we will always miss him in our daily lives he is no longer hurting and for that we are thankful.

The family would like to thank Dr. Dixon, the 911 operator, paramedics and Officer Paula for their calm and kind professionalism.

A funeral service will be held Saturday January 7, 2023 at 1:00pm PST) both on Zoom and in person at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 5692 Highway 97 Oliver, BC

In lieu of flowers please donate to Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania, a link can be found at donate.jw.org
