Tribute

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Adelaide Oliveira peacefully and surrounded by family at the South Okanagan General Hospital on Friday February 6, 2015 at the tender age of 61 years.

She was predeceased by her father Manuel da Rocha and her brother Joaquim Couro Da Rocha.

Adelaide will be fondly remembered by her loving husband Carlos of over 40 years; two children, Bruno (Danielle Oliveira and Patrick (Juhlie) Oliveira; grandchildren Mateo, Kai and Luca as well as many extended family and friends.

Adelaide was born and raised in Luanda, Angola. She worked at Fraser Orchards for over twenty years and at Sunnybank as a Dietary Aide for twenty years as well.

Adelaide loved spending time with the residents and her co-workers at Sunnybank but most of all spending time with her devoted husband and family. She especially liked travelling up to Kelowna to visit with her children and grandchildren.

Adelaide will be remembered for her energy, her compassion, her sense of humour and the unconditional love she had for her family.

A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Dave De Souza at 11:00 A.M. Thursday February 12, 2015 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Interment and committal will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery. A reception hosted by the CWL in the church lower hall will follow the interment.
