Tribute
Alain Joseph Mathieu, better known as Al, passed away on February 7, 2015 at South Okanagan General Hospital after a long battle against cancer.
He is predeceased by his mother Marie Paquin, his father Gerard Mathieu and his wife Danielle Mathieu. He is survived by his daughters, Chantal Mathieu (Micah Image) and Michelle Mathieu (Leo Perez), his brothers Réjean Mathieu (Carole Benjamin) and André Mathieu (Maryse Berube) and his sisters, Ghislaine Mathieu, Pierette Mathieu (Réjean Boisjoli) and Lyse Mathieu (Claude Brunette).
Alain was born and raised in Quebec and moved to the Okanagan when he was 21 years old, where he met and fell in love with his soul mate, Danielle. They set their roots in Osoyoos where he worked closely with his friends Pam and Teunis Vankalkeren. Here, they raised their two daughters. Once his daughters graduated from high school, Alain and Danielle moved throughout the Okanagan as they battled with health issues. They again found themselves in the South Okanagan where they lived for the remainder of their lives.
The Mathieu family and friends would like to wholeheartedly thank the Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Services and Crematorium for their help through difficult times over the past few years.
