Tribute

On Sunday April 20, 2014, Mr. Alan Andrew Clifford of Oliver passed away at Sunnybank Centre at the age of 77 years. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur & Betty; sister Heather and step-son Lewis.

Alan will be fondly remembered by his loving family including wife Gail; his four children Paul (Denise) of Manitoba, Mandy (Tim), Clare (Alain) and Andrew (Melinda) of Alberta; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his step-children Gay Ann (Randy) of Vancouver Island and Cory (Rose) of Alberta; two step-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Joyce, Deloris and Alice of BC as well as brother-in-law Rex; niece Debbie and great nephew Christopher all of England.

Alan was born in England and served proudly in the Royal Navy for twelve years as a Stationary Engineer and Mechanician and rose to a rank of Petty Officer. He worked as a Stationary Engineer in New Westminster and Prince Rupert. Alan also worked doing maintenance on apartment buildings, motels, on a paddle wheeler and in the healthcare field.

Alan loved RV’ing and travelled around the world twice while in the Navy. He served proudly in the Korean War. Alan was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 173 and had thirty four years of continuous service. He enjoyed reading, probe’s, his metal detector and bike riding.
