Tribute
With profound sorrow and broken hearts, we share the unexpected passing of Allan Ricard at the age of 72. Though Allan faced recent health challenges, his departure has left an immeasurable void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Allan was born on June 10, 1952, in New Westminster, BC. He was predeceased by his first wife, Heather, their son James, his parents Mary and Rick, and his brother Jerry. Their memories remain interwoven with his story, and their presence shaped the loving, generous man Allan became.
A devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, son-in-law, brother-in-law, and uncle, Allan was the embodiment of faith and unconditional love. His life was a testament to hard work, selflessness, and a willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Allan is deeply mourned and lovingly remembered by his second wife Martine Gauthier, who continued to bring him joy and companionship in his later years. He also leaves behind his cherished daughters Natasha and Joelle, his daughter-in-law Shelli, and his adoring grandchildren Vienna and Asher, his step son Emmanuel and partner Kim, step son Jeremie and step grandsons Eli and Jaeden all who he loved deeply.
His siblings Jeannie, Robert (Arlene) and Larry along with his extended family and countless friends, will miss him dearly.
Allan’s life was defined by his love for family, friends, and the great outdoors. Whether working on projects in his garage, tending to his garden, or exploring nature, Allan found solace and purpose in the simple, meaningful moments of life. Cooking, eating, hiking, fishing, boating, and camping were among his favourite pastimes, and some of his happiest memories were made sitting around a campfire, surrounded by those he loved most.
His passion for aviation spanned more than five decades. As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Allan’s dedication and skill were unparalleled. He took immense pride in his work and later owned a successful aircraft maintenance company, leaving a legacy of excellence in his field. Allan also had his private pilot’s licence and took pleasure in taking friends and family for adventures in the sky.
Allan’s faith was his guiding light. Despite the hardships he faced, his unwavering belief in God sustained him and inspired those around him. His life was a reflection of resilience and strength of a man who lived with purpose and hope.
To our beloved Allan: With all our hearts, we love and miss you. While we grieve the loss of your presence, we will forever cherish the legacy of love, wisdom, and faith you have left behind. Thank you for showing us what it means to live a life of honesty, integrity and unconditional love.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and support staff who cared for Allan with compassion. Special thanks to Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Service and Cremation in Oliver, BC, for their kindness and guidance during this difficult time.
A celebration of Allan’s life will take place in the late spring, where we will honor his memory surrounded by the beauty of nature he so deeply loved.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7
