From: Maria Soledad "Sol" Kottmeier
Relation: We were next-door neighbours

Amelia “Millie” was my next door neighbor for decades, when she and Jack lived in Rosebery Ave, West Vancouver. Over the years this accidental fact of living next to each other developed into the kind of friendship that remains in one’s memory forever, despite distance and losing touch. Today, I heard of Millie’s passing and I write these lines in fond remembrance of a great lady, a generous friend and an amazing mother. Thank you.

From: Barbara Dickinson
Relation: friend of my parents

I was saddened to learn of Millie’s death. She and her husband Jack were square dancing friends of my parents, Helen and Dick Dickinson. For over thirty years they came to my parents’ annual New Year’s Day Open House in North Vancouver. My job was to persuade Millie to have one “very small” glass of punch and some goodies before I offered her tea or coffee. Millie always seemed to enjoy herself in her own quiet way, and I have fond memories of our conversations and her beautiful smile.

With sympathy,

Barbara Dickinson (Lethbridge, Alberta)
Jim and Colleen Dickinson (Vancouver)
