Tribute

On Wednesday November 27, 2013, Mrs Amelia Martins Pires passed away peacefully after a long illness at Mariposa Gardens at the age of 87 years.

She was predeceased by her parents João Pires and Flamina Martins; brothers Antonio and Jose Pires and sons Antonio, Florenco and John Pires.

Amelia will be fondly remembered by her daughter Anna Relvas (Jack); grandsons Jeremy Relvas (Jennifer Bassani) and Adam Relvas (Lindsay); great-grandchildren Brooklyn Relvas, Anthony Relvas and Jordyn Lombardi; sisters Izilda Ferreira and Maria Goncailves; sister-in-law Maria Amelia Martins as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Over the years, Amelia worked at the Monashee Packinghouse and enjoyed trips to Portugal. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, music, dancing, playing cards and spending time with family.

Donations gratefully accepted for the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.

A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Dave De Souza at 10:30 A.M. Monday December 2, 2013 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Interment and committal will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery. A reception back at the church lower hall will follow the interment.

Anna, Jack, Jeremy and Adam,
Not a day will go by that you won’t think of your Mom, Mother in law and grandmother. She was a very special lady and will be missed by so many. She endured a lot in her life but now she is amongst angel’s, her loving husband and sons. Cherish all the good memories you have of her. My thoughts and prayers are with you Anna and family. Hugs
