Tribute
Andy Jensen passed away peacefully on December 27, 2011 at Mariposa Gardens at the age of 91 years.
Mourning his passing are his sons Hardy Jensen and Christian (Pamela) Jensen, and his daughter Judy (Glenn) Bender; his nine grandchildren Trina, Derek, Hardy, Chad, Nicholas, Brittny, Mandy, Kelly, and Clayton; and his eleven great-grandchildren. His wife Gudrun (“Goody”) predeceased him in 2002.
Andy married Goody and fathered his three children in Grinstad, Denmark before immigrating to Osoyoos in 1957. By 1962 he started his own business, South Okanagan Concrete Products, which he operated until his retirement.
Andy enjoyed working, gardening, reading history books and newspapers, and socializing with family and friends. He and Goody loved to vacation in the warm, southern United States. In his late senior years, he even tried downhill skiing, and took up bicycling.
He was a devout Christian, reading his Bible daily and attending Grace Lutheran Church.
Andy appreciated the friends, nurses, and caregivers at Mariposa Gardens for all their help, caring and support. God bless you all.
A memorial service will be held on Friday December 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Osoyoos, with Rev. Darren Siegle officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted for the Canadian Cancer Society or the local food bank.
