Tribute

Born at Premier, BC, September 21, 1936 and passed away at Oliver, BC, May 10, 2011. Survived by his loving wife, Margaret; children Marion Vennard (Mark) of Penticton, John Smith of Quesnel, and much loved grandson, Geoffrey (Penticton); sisters Agnes Groves and Joan Smith of Burnaby, BC; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Dolly Nelles.
Angus attended elementary school in Premier and high school in Prince Rupert. He received his accounting degree (CGA) from UBC. He worked for Van”s Bakery in Prince Rupert where he met and married Margaret. They settled in Quesnel where he joined Rigsby-Lea, Barr & Co. and raised their family. They retired to Oliver in 1990. Angus enjoyed the outdoors — boating, fishing, prospecting, photography, researching data on Premier, reading, music, gardening, and short trips in their motor home.
Angus fought a lengthy battle with cancer. Honouring his wishes, there will be no funeral service – cremation. If so desired, a donation may be made in his name to the BC Cancer Foundation or charity of choice.
