Anne Hapke

January 16, 1925 - January 14, 2023

Tribute

On Saturday, January 14th, 2023, Mrs. Anne Helen Hapke (nee Gaertner) passed away peacefully at the South Okanagan General Hospital, surrounded by her family.

She was predeceased by her husband Ewald Hapke

Anne will be fondly remembered by her sons, Harold Hapke, Lawrence Hapke (Carol) and daughter, Debra Magee (Greg); grandchildren, Dr. Emma Hapke, Michelle Hapke Pedersen (Claus), Tammy Martin (Blake) and Therese Urness (Jason); great-grandchildren, Leo, Ryder, Tyson, Maverick and Charlotte.

Anne was a hard worker her whole life and worked side by side with Ewald on the family orchard for over 50 years.

She was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, active in the Ladies Aide and church choir where she enjoyed performing weekly with her lovely soprano voice, along with her husband Ewald’s deep bass voice.

Knitting was more than a passion, whenever she sat down, she picked up her needles.

Donations are gratefully accepted for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday January 20, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church followed by interment and committal at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery. A reception in the church hall will follow the interment.

Condolences and tributes may be directed to the family by visiting www.nunes-pottinger.com

I was sorry to read about Anne’s passing . Condolences to you Lawrence and Carol and all of the family. I’ll always remember Oma on her supervisory walks through the orchard, checking this and checking that. She certainly was a feisty lady with a great outlook.

Relation: Niece

My sincerest condolences for the loss of Anne Hapke. Many amazing memories of spending time with Uncle Ewald, Aunt Anne and their entire family. They shared their home, hearts and fruit so willing, to everyone who visited them. Wishing the entire family health and happiness despite this somber time of remembering Anne for the special person she was.
