Annette Florence Gertrude Tarasewich (Courtepatte)

January 24, 1942 - July 11, 2026

Tribute

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,  Aunt and friend, Annette Florence Gertrude Courtepatte Tarasewich, who passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026.

Annette was the devoted mother of Lori Knudson, Danny Tarasewich, and Tracey Klyne. She was also a cherished mother-in-law to Tony Klyne, who remains an important part of her extended family.  She was an incredibly proud grandmother to Jacek Knudson, Andre Knudson, Santana Tarasewich, Seana Tarasewich, Doni Green, Toni Klyne, and a cherished great-grandmother to Axton Jamault, Madison Phillips and Wyatt Green, who brought her endless joy.

Annette was predeceased by her father, Edward Courtepatte; mother Lillian Rowe; brothers Patrick Courtepatte and Arthur Loring; her common-law spouse, Edward Tiller; father of her children, Bernie Tarasewich; and her beloved grandson Brett Klyne.

To know Annette was to love her. She had an infectious laugh that could brighten any room and a joyful spirit that made everyone feel at ease. Her heart was big enough for everyone, and she made it her mission to ensure no one ever felt left out. Family, friends, neighbours, and even strangers were welcomed with open arms, kindness, and genuine warmth.

Annette was the heart of her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest happiness came from bringing people together. Whether it was around the kitchen table, on a family vacation, or simply over coffee and conversation, she created memories that will be treasured forever.

She had a passion for travel and was an exceptional tour guide, always finding the perfect adventure and making every trip unforgettable. She also found great joy in baking. Her homemade pies, cookies, Nanaimo bars, cheesecakes, cinnamon rolls and countless other treats became family favourites. During holidays, community events, and fundraisers, Annette was always among the first to volunteer her time and talents, and her baked goods were always the first to disappear.

More than anything, Annette leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, laughter, and inclusion. She taught those around her to embrace life, care deeply for others, and always make room at the table. Her love will continue to live on through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched.

Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing her pain has ended and her spirit lives on in every shared laugh, every family gathering, every homemade dessert, and every act of kindness inspired by her example.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A celebration of Annette’s Life will be held on Sept 5th 2026, from 2:00-4:00, located at 5401 Lakeshore Drive – Casa Del Mila Oro Resort,  Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada.  Family and friends are warmly invited to join us as we gather to share stories, celebrate a life so beautifully lived, and honour the love, laughter, and kindness that she gave so freely to everyone she met.  Please join us as we celebrate a life well lived.
