Tribute

Betty passed away peacefully in her sleep in the morning of Tuesday December 30, 2014 with her husband of 57 years by her side.

She was predeceased by her oldest son Frank.

Betty leaves behind her grieving family: husband Henry; son Mike (Denise); granddaughters Cass (Jason), Alicia (Brent), Nicole (Jerred) and great-grandchildren Raine, Halo, Lincoln and Petal; her two sisters Margreth and Bertel; brother-in-law Karl as well as many extended family and dear friends.

Betty was born in Mainz, Germany and came to Canada in 1963. She and family worked for four years in a logging camp on Moresby Island before moving for a short time for Vancouver. After that it was on to an old homestead near Lone Butte, BC. Over the coming years, besides looking after the family, she was an actively involved in the development and expansion of it into a small productive cattle ranch.

Betty liked animals, gardening, flowers, travelling, reading and made lasting and loved friends wherever she went.

In 2006, Betty moved from the Cariboo to Oliver and for a few years enjoyed the warm winters of Southern California, golfing, sailing and fishing. Betty is sadly missed by all who knew her. There will be no memorial service but a family and friends get together will be held at a later date.
