Tribute
On Friday May 5, 2017, Ms. Barbara Anne Simon passed away peacefully at the South Okanagan General Hospital at the age of 68 years.
She was predeceased by her father Steve Simon and her mother Kathleen Simon.
Barb will be fondly remembered by her loving family including sisters Gloria Jean Murphy and Mary Held (Guenther); nieces Heide Held (Jay Anast) and Monica Pelly (Jason); nephew Darren Held (Debbie Faucher); four great-nieces and four great-nephews.
Over the years, she worked in the packinghouse for awhile and then for K & C Silviculture for 25 years.
Barb enjoyed a trip to Vegas and travelling around town looking for bargains. She also made coffee every Tuesday at the Elks Golden Villa, organized group dinners for the residents at the Villa and frequented teas and craft fairs at the Catholic Church.
Barb was a social butterfly who enjoyed going to the Elks Bingo, the seniors bingo, the Legion and reading.
The family would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to the residents of the Elks Villa, Linda & Doug Cripps, Ramona Hoffman, Simmona Perrino, Debbie Faucher and Jay Anast as well as the doctors, nurses and staff at SOGH for all support and help.
Donations are gratefully accepted for the Canadian Diabetes Association and the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
