Tribute
On Friday November 4, 2011, Mr. Berend Mensies of Oliver, BC passed away suddenly in his sons arms at the age of 72 years.
He was predeceased by his parents Jantje & Albertus Mensies and his brother Albertus Mensies.
Berend will be fondly remembered by his loving family including children Diane Logan, Berend “Sonny” Mensies (Cindy), Jennifer McCumber (Ron), Hans Mensies (Kelly Flint); brothers William (Joanne) and Koos (Kathy); sister Alice (Lorraine); eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Berend spent his career as a baker. He also was the Fire Chief in Stewart, BC and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Berend was always loved and will be greatly missed.
