Beryl Radies

Tribute
Born September 8, 1929 in Biggar Sask. to William Hatton and Ellie (Scott) Hatton (immigrants from England & Ireland). She was raised on the farm at Wilson Lake Sask. until her dad”s passing in 1941. The whole family moved to Oliver B.C. in March 1945. Beryl met Albert Radies in 1946, and they were married in June of 1947. They purchased the family orchard on road #2a in 1948. Mom lived there until ill heath forced her to move to McKinney Place in the spring of 2010.
Mom had various jobs through the years; Maybee”s Packing House, BC Tel, the family orchard and business. During this time she raised four children, nieces and nephews and a couple of foster children. The house was always full of kids, friends and family.
Beryl travelled with Albert and a couple of good friends to Europe, Mexico, Alaska, across Canada and Australia. She and Albert also enjoyed many fishing and camping trips.
Beryl was predeceased by husband Albert, son Ray, sister Berna, parents Bill and Ellie, stepfather Archie, and several nieces and nephews.
Survived by brothers Bill (Shirlee), Bob (Dora), and sister Alice (Tom), sons Wayne (Wendie), Brad (Tammy) daughter Sandra (George), grandchildren Jeff (Hawley), Jennifer (Derek), Spring (LJ), Patrick, Steffany (Sheaon) Rande, Kaleb, Shelby (Bryan), and Brody, two step-grandchildren, Harley and Kaytlen (Matt) and five great grandchildren Preston, Claire, Kaylee, Jayden and Skyler.
Beryl was a lifetime member of Legion Ladies Auxiliary to Branch #97.
A very special thank you to the staff at McKinney Place, and the nursing staff at PRH and SOGH.
A memorial service will be held at the Oliver Royal Canadian Legion Hall, Branch #97 on Saturday February 19, 2011 at 11:00 am with Legion Padre Rev. Ray Turner officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McKinney Place, R.R.#3, 7139 – 362nd Avenue, Oliver, BC V0H 1T0, in memory of Beryl.
