Betty Linderman

Tribute

Betty was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on the 30th of April 1932.
Shortly after celebrating her 80th Birthday, and a valiant, courageous 37 year battle with cancer passed away on May 18th, 2012.
She was a true stoic warrior.
Betty was a one of a kind wife and mother, a graduate of the Lethbridge Business College, an extraordinary gymnast and tap dancer.
She exchanged wedding vows with the love of her life Matthew Linderman in 1952 and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June.

With her passing she leaves behind her beloved husband Matthew, son Brian (Bonnie), her daughter Tracy (Brian), daughter Cathy (Stan), and son Troy (Carmen), Tracy”s sons Nelson (Yaovaluck) & Jordyn, Cathy”s children Cayley, Cole, Alix, Riley, Kane, Kass, Brant & Jace. Troy”s children Jesse and Lane, her cherished sister Shirley (Pat), many nieces and nephews, and numerous close friends.

Betty was an avid fan of Nascar Racing and Professional Bull Riding , loved to be busy and her greatest hobby and interest was her family and friends with which she enjoyed many picnics and get-togethers.

Betty and Matt travelled to U.S.A. locations for vacation to cheer on their favorite race car drivers in Florida and the bull riders in Las Vegas.
One of her memorable vacations was with her sister Shirley and her mother Effie to Nashville where they visited Grand Ole Opry and Graceland.

Betty was a very hard working homemaker and family business owner. With her husband Matt, they owned and operated Lindy”s Sales & Service and later the Blairmore Motel. She was also a salesperson, a restaurant manager and most importantly wife, mother and grandmother. In 2002, Betty & Matt left friends in the Crowsnest Pass to relocate to Oliver B.C. where she met and made many more friends & neighbors. She was a true friend and loved by all who met her.

Betty was involved in the Coleman Pipe Band, Crowsnest Pass Figure Skating Club, Curling Clubs in Bellevue, Alta., Coleman, Alta. & Oliver, B.C., OORP in Blairmore, Alta. & was awarded a trophy with the Lundbreck Speedway in Alberta as Car 66 Pit Crew Uniform Specialist.

Betty was predeceased by her father Harry McCartney, her brother Ron McCartney and her mother Effie McCartney.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday May 26, 2012 at the Christ the King Catholic Church lower hall.
