Blanche Mckay

Tribute
Blanche Elizabeth McKay, our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed peacefully away Dec. 26/15 at the age of 94.
Predeceased by her husband of 55 years in 2004, she is survived by her sister Muriel Collier of Penticton,
her children; Marion Starr and Roy McKay, her grandchildren; Kendra and Quinn Starr, Heather Thiessen, Julie Turbett, & Eric McKay, as well as eight great grandchildren.
She was born in Summerland in 1921 and raised in Penticton. She married Ian Edward McKay of Naramata in 1949 and they started a family in 1952. They lived in Naramata, Oliver and Patterson, with a last move to Osoyoos in 1964. Blanche was a wonderful homemaker and an extraordinarily talented
seamstress. She and Ian were active in the Gyro Club for many years, travelling to functions in the
States and Canada, enjoying a network of friendship and goodwill.
Thank you to the gracious staff at Mariposa in Osoyoos, for the loving care and support she received.
Blanche will be loved and missed every day by her family and many good friends. A memorial celebration will be held in the spring.
