Tribute

On Friday, November 7, 2025, Mr. Brian Patrick Stothard of Oliver passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 67 years after a long struggle with his mental health.

He was predeceased by his mother, Diane; father, Patrick; son, Bradley; grandson, Damon and nephew, Shaun.

Brian will be fondly remembered by his loving family including his brother, Darin (Paula); sister, Shelly (Earl); beautiful wife, Patty; daughters, Amber and Carrie; son-in-law, Jay; grandsons, Logan and Aiden; niece, Kelsea; nephews, Jason, Jeffry and Tom as well as many extended family and friends.

Brian had a long career of over 35 years working for CN Rail. He enjoyed trips to Cuba for Carrie and Jay’s wedding and to Mexico for his 35^th wedding anniversary to Patty. He also enjoyed hiking, snowshoeing, skating and most of all, helping people and was well known for donating his time in his community. Brian donated blood on a regular basis, he volunteered at Dynamic Race Triathlons as well as at various senior homes and churches and led hikes in and around Oliver.

A celebration of Brian’s life will be held at 12:00 pm, Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Romeo’s Place, 2945 Jacklin Road, Victoria, BC (Westshore Town Centre Langford). Come together to find comfort and share happy memories of Brian.

Donations are gratefully accepted for a charity that is suited to men’s mental health.
