Tribute

David (Bruce) Beck passed away peacefully on May 7, 2012 at Mariposa Gardens in Osoyoos at the age of 88 years old.
He leaves behind a loving wife of 61 years, Shirley; his sons Chris, Murray and Barry;
grandchildren Devin, Jessica, Colton, Shelby and Brock as well as great-grandchildren Chloe and Wyatt. Bruce enjoyed all that life had to offer. After retiring from his position with the federal government in 1990, he and Shirley fulfilled their dream of moving to Osoyoos to pursue their passion for fishing, gardening and building furniture in his home wood shop.
They participated actively in their new community and build friendships that lasted his lifetime.

Bruce was born in Peterborough, Ontario. One of 8 children, he also leaves behind his sisters Margaret and Betty, and brother Wilson. After serving in the second world war, he returned to Kamloops and met his wife to be Shirley, and raised their family in Vancouver. He participated proudly as his sons succeeded in achieving their own dreams, and became an active and supportive granddad in later years.

Bruce Beck was a loving husband, a dedicated family man, a determined worker and the life of every party.

Special thanks to neighbours Karen and Ken Seiben, Naomi and Ted, ALL the staff at Mariposa Gardens for their kindness and support, plus Dr. Calder for years of care and Dr.West for being supportive when Shirley needed him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
