Tribute
On Friday April 9th, 2010, Mrs. Carol Elaine Ganton of Oliver passed away at McKinney Place ECU after a long battle with heart problems at the age of 63 years.
She was predeceased by her parents Allen & Betty Derby of Montreal.
Carol will be lovingly remembered by her husband George and an extended family of many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, her sisters Diane and Sandra as well as many friends.
Carol was a Registered Nurse who enjoyed a long career working at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver and Penticton Regional Hospital.
She loved to travel with George in their recreational vehicles and was an avid quilter. Carol was a member of Double O’ Quilters and the Red Hats. She also enjoyed cross-stitch, puzzles and photography. Carol also loved trying new recipes and in her later years her computer.

Carol was a real support as I was going through the last month with my mother who was across the hall at McKinney Place. She would come down to palative care to make sure I was not along and we talked often about the faith my mother and I both had and what was such a help to me. Carol really reached out in my moment of need and I made a point of visiting her weekly since mom passed away. I will miss her. God blessings and comfort to all the family. Betty-Jo Hetherington
