Tribute

Carolyn Vera Madge
May 7, 1942 – October 22, 2022

Sadly, after a brief illness, Carolyn Vera Madge (Cranna) of Oliver, B.C. passed away at home on Saturday, October 22, 2022 with her loving children by her side.  She was born in Trail, BC on May 7, 1942.

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Hazel Cranna, brother Donald Cranna, and son-in-law Mark Misner.

She is survived by her son Shawn Madge; daughter Colleen Misner; granddaughter Madeline Misner; sister and brother-in-law Janet and Frank Whiteman, and several nieces and nephews.

Carolyn will be greatly missed by her tight-knit family and friends and the scores of people that knew her as a manager, co-worker, and mentor during her many years at Oliver Parks and Recreation.

Carolyn will be especially remembered for her positive outlook and creativity. She loved music and travel, and her hand made greeting cards were sent all over the world. Her perfect day was spending time with those she loved on her deck at Tucelnuit Lake. She impacted the lives of everyone she met.

In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted at the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation in her memory. Condolences and tributes may be directed to the family by visiting www.nunes-pottinger.com.

A sad time indeed. I have fond memories of Carolyn of her time at Parks and Rec and she was brilliant there but I remember her the most at her Mom & Dads jewelry store. I can still see her there and Hazel and Bill too. My deepest condolences to all Carolyn’s family and friends.

Carolyn loved her community and worked tirelessly to improve it during the many years she was employed with the Parks and Recreation Society ( Commission) and for many years after as a volunteer within the community. We, the current directors on the Board of the Parks & Rec Society, gratefully acknowledge her wisdom and foresight was a strong building block in the development of the facilities our community enjoys today.
