Tribute

Our beautiful mother, Carroll Winnifred Haddow, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026. Mom/Nans had just celebrated her 83rd Birthday. She left this world listening to music and song and we pray that she is up there now dancing with dad. We are sure she will be happily joining the rest of the “OK Falls Gang” and we know there will be shenanigans! Likely involving costumes, pranks and vodka slushies.

Mom was the eldest of 6 children and the only girl! She was so delighted to have visits from both of her surviving brothers, Robert Taron and David Taron in recent weeks. Of course the grandchildren trumped everyone in Nana’s eyes and all were able to come for visits, which she loved.

We are so, so very grateful for all of the family and friends who stopped by to share memories, laughter and song during the final days. Even the “Westview Ladies Choir”, which mom was a part of, came to mom’s room to have a sing a long. They said they would miss her, because ‘she remembers all the words’ and she really did! A very special thanks also goes out to mom’s faithful friends, “The Lunch Ladies”, who threw her an amazing 83rd Birthday picnic in the park.

The family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to the residents and staff at Westview. The palliative care team was phenomenal. Our hearts are full.

A celebration of life will be held for Carroll on Monday, September 7th, 2026 at the Kaleden Linden Gardens from 11am to 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Summerland Fire Relief or the Penticton SPCA in Carroll’s memory.
