Clarence (Mick) Leaming

Tribute
On Sunday, May 21, 2017, Mick passed away at his home at the age of 96. He was born in Yorkshire, England. After leaving school he worked at Kingston Engineering in Hull, Yorkshire. When WW11 broke out he joined the Army and served in the Middle East. After the war was over he returned to Hull and went to work for Hull City Transport as a bus driver. Mick married Jean in 1949 and a daughter, Sandra, was born in 1951. Mick and Jean emigrated to Maple Ridge, Canada, in 1988 to be with their daughter, Sandra, and her husband Bryan and grandson Sean. His wife, Jean, passed away in 2006. Then Mick moved to Osoyoos to be with Sandra and her family. He met Anne in 2008, and she was his partner until her passing in January 2017.
He loved being in his condo in White Sands and the independence it gave him to potter around and do his “special projects”. A special thanks go to Dr Tarr and the care aides from Interior Health who, together with his daughter, Sandra, were part of the team that made it possible for him to stay in his home, which was his greatest wish.
He leaves behind his Daughter Sandra, Son in Law Bryan, Grandson Sean (Carley) and Great Grandson Mark.
A graveside service and reception will be announced at a later date.
