Cyril Cy Bailey
July 24, 1922 - December 28, 2013
Tribute
Cy passed away peacefully at McKinney Place on December 28, 2013 with his wife Ruth and their dear friend Carol Smith at his side. He will be sadly missed by his wife Ruth of 57 years.
Cy served with the Armed Forces overseas from 1939 – 1945. He and Ruth moved from Vancouver to Osoyoos in 1958 where they purchased an orchard which Cy operated for many years. He was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, a 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a past member of the Elks.
After retirement he and Ruth travelled extensively, also spending many winters in Hawaii and Arizona. He is survived by his brother William of Burnaby and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth and the family thank the staff at McKinney Place so very much for their loving care and assistance. According to Cy’s wishes there will be no public service.

Ruth, our condolences on the loss of Cy..had seen him in the Drs office some months ago and we discussed our aging ailments. Remember our Little Duffer days when we were neighbors. Our thoughts and prayers are with you . Barb and Dave Porteous

In my first years in teaching Cy made me feel welcomed and supported. We stayed in touch after his retirement. He was a good man. My thoughts go out to the family.
