Danielle Mathieu, age 56, passed away, suddenly but peacefully, at her home in Oliver, BC on Friday September 13, 2013.
Danielle was born on March 26, 1958 in Vancouver BC, the youngest of 7 siblings. The family moved to Penticton soon after, and it is in the Okanagan that Danielle went to school and grew up, eventually meeting Alain — it was love at first sight. They spent the next 28 years together, mainly in Osoyoos, raising their family. The love they shared was admired and cherished by many.
Danielle was not only vibrant and beautiful, but one of the strongest and most caring people you could meet. She always put her needs aside for the needs of her loved ones. She had an amazing sense of humour and a smile that would light up a room.
She will be forever loved and missed. She leaves behind her husband, Alain; her daughters, Chantal (Micah) and Michelle; and her brothers Dale (Girlie), Michael (Diane), and Kevan, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Predeceased by her parents Roland and Elizabeth (Betty), sister Alana, and brothers Alan and Tony.
A Celebration of Life will be held between 2:30 – 5:30 P.M. Saturday September 21 at the Oliver Elks Hall.

Danielle told me all about her beautiful family, in the last few years since we had re-connected. We met when we were teenagers, when she came to Kapuskasing with her Dad…they drove that Bug to Kap. I missed seeing her when I was out went in 1986, and we had talked about how we would love to see each other again. She spoke so proudly of her girls, and her wonderful husband of over 25 years. We share alot of things in those chats of ours, and notes. I will miss them and she would always end her notes to me like this….luv ya cuz…..Right back at you Danielle, be with the angels xo

So saddened to hear of Danielle’s sudden passing. Chantal has talked many times about the close and loving relationship between her mother and father. Danielle will obviously be deeply missed. My heartfelt condolences to everyone in the family.

Regretfully, we spent most of our time being separated by the great distance between British Columbia and Ontario, however, during the past few years I was fortunate to meet Danielle through FaceBook. She was always filled with cheer and I looked forward to seeing her posts, comments and photos. Rest in peace Danielle, you will be missed.
