Darwin Patterson
November 7, 1941 - March 12, 2012
Tribute
Darwin Hugo Patterson of Osoyoos, BC passed away peacefully March 12, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.
Darwin was the beloved husband and friend to his loving wife, Lorna, of 47 years. He was father, and friend to his two children; son, Kelly and Wife Sandra, two sons Kevin [23 yrs] (Sarah) and Brett [21 years] (Marcy); daughter Heather Coney (nee Patterson) and husband Kelly, and their two children Emily [15 years] and Garrett [12 years].
How do you express a man”s life in a few words… Darwin was a huge presence in the lives he touched. He was a strong man who gave his family so much of his strength in his words, his actions and his life. He believed that you lived a good life if the ones you loved the most were there for you in good times and bad, but especially the good times.
When i am gone, release me, let me go…
I have so many things to see and do, you mustn”t tie yourself to me with tears; be happy that we had so many years. I gave to you my love, you can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you have shown. But now it is time I travelled alone. So grieve a while for me if you must, then let your grief be comforted by trust. Bless the memories in your heart. I won”t be far away, for life goes on; if you need me, call and I will come, though you can”t see me or touch me, I”ll be near. If you listen with your heart you”ll hear all of my love around you soft and clear. And then when you must come this way alone, I”ll greet you with a smile and say… “Welcome Home”.
Darwin”s life will be celebrated by his family and friends June 2, 2012 from 1pm to 4pm; at Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort & Spa. 1200 Rancher Creek Road, Osoyoos, BC V0H 1V6.
Donations are gratefully accepted for the SOGH Palliative Care Unit, R.R.#, 7139 – 362nd Ave. Oliver, BC V0H 1T0 or the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation, 550 Carmi Ave. Penticton, BC V2A 9Z9.

We were saddened and very sorry to hear of the passing of Darwin. He was the first person to reach out and welcome us to the neighborhood when we first came to Osoyoos. His laughter and warmth will long be remembered by our family. We always enjoyed Lorna and his company. We send our sincere sympathy to Lorna and family. Wendy and Wilfred Herle
