Tribute

David was born in Calgary, Alberta; and died while visiting in Oliver, BC, after a short battle with Cancer at the age of 68.  He was retired from his own business as a custodian, as well as previously being a custodian and bookkeeper for his family’s business.
David was predeceased by his father, Russell Bruce Upsdell, and is survived by his mother, Alma Annie (Ackerman) Upsdell; his brother, Charles “Chuck” Upsdell (Gillian); his sister, Eleanor Moyer; his nephews, Nathan and Kevin Moyer, and Jonathan and Joel (Paige) Upsdell; and his great nephew Jayden, as well as several cousins, uncles, and aunts.

David was a graduate of Gladstone Secondary School, DeVry Institute of Technology Correspondence, Langara Community College, and Simon Fraser University. His special interests were working with computers (including graphics), reading, listening to music, and watching Science Fiction programs, as well as crossword puzzles and chess.

He lived briefly in Calgary, Alberta, then briefly in Penticton, BC, then finally grew up and stayed in Vancouver, BC.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future.   His ashes will be laid to rest close to his grandmother, Verona Mable Upsdell, in Mountain View Cemetery, Vancouver.  No flowers by request.  Donations are suggested to the Canadian Cancer Society or to your favourite charity.
