Dawna Marciano

May 7, 1953 - January 22, 2014

Tribute

Dawna Marciano of Oliver passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at South Okanagan General Hospital at the age of 60 years, after a hard battle with ovarian cancer.

She is survived by her husband Stefano, her mother June, daughter Tammy (Bleu), son James, and grandchildren Brooklyn and Jordan, step-children Maria (Damian), Stephanie (Robert), grandchildren Samantha, Nathan, Chris (Karen), Hunter and Adrianna. Also mourning her loss are her brother Blaine Watson (Todd), brother David Watson (Alison), sister Brenda Watson (Gary), and sister Bev O`Reily (Sean). Nieces and nephews Adam (Alyssa), Sarah, Ben, Jasmine, Anthony, Brendon, and Logan. Grand-nieces and –nephews Madison, Rylan and Jaydon.

Dawna was predeceased by her daughter Christine and her father Percy (Harold).

Dawna worked as a care aid in the health care industry. In her spare time, she loved swimming. Together with her husband Stefano, she travelled to Alaska for a vacation in 2013 where she had the time of her life.

Our dear Dawna loved life at its fullest, living in the moment.  She loved her family more than anything, who have fond memories of her playing cards and her mean game of monopoly. She always seemed happy and positive, with energy enough for all. With a heart as big as the world, she deeply cared for everyone and would help anyone who needed it. We will forever have joy in our hearts remembering her. She will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life reception will be held at the family home on Sunday January 26 at 2:30 p.m.

Donations in Dawna`s memory would be greatly appreciated by South Okanagan Hospice (c.o. South Okanagan General Hospital,  911 McKinney Road, Oliver BC V0H 1T3)  and Desert Valley Hospice Society (P.O. Box 1261, Oliver BC V0H 1T0). The family thanks all the amazing staff at SOGH.
