Deolinda Moreira

Tribute
On Friday 22, 2025 our mother Deolinda Moreira passed away peacefully with family at her side at
McKinney Place at the age of 96.
She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Manuel. Her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Mom was the last living of her family.
She is survived by her sons Joe (Maxine), Claude(Brenda); daughters Betty, Mary and Lucy(Rick)
Grandchildren Carmen, Amanda, Bryce, Darrin, Carli, Aaron, Lisa, Michael, Michelle, Danielle,
Sergio and Christina as well as 15 great grandchildren.
Mom immigrated to Canada in 1959 from Santa Maria, Azores to join our father who had come 2
years before.
They started as farm labourers, working in various orchards. They eventually owned three orchards.
They loved working on the farm and became very successful.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 Friday September 5th at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. It will
be followed her burial at Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Tarr and the staff at McKinney Place for their support, kindness and
great care of our mother.
