Tribute

On Sunday, April 2, 2017 Dolores Lewis passed away peacefully in McKinney Place with her son John and Simone by her side at the age of 80.

She was predeceased by husband Herb Lewis. Dolores will be lovingly missed by her sons Mark, John (Simone); daughter Lisa; grandchildren Clinton, Brent, Justin and Trent.

Dolores was born in Hamilton, Ont. where at the age of 14 she went to work in the factories to support her family, she met Herb in her ealy 20’s and moved to California. They moved to Osoyoos in 1969. Dolores did many different things in her life. These are just a few examples – cattle ranching in Tulameen, ostrich farming in Cawston and many years or building with Herb in Osoyoos.

She had a love for life and a great sense of humour. She also had a great many friends from when she moved to Osoyoos until her last days. She will be deeply missed.

A special thank you to McKinney Place and all of the excellent staff who were very kind and helpful. Also a special thank you to Lena Costa Thompson for the amazing, unwavering support given to Dolores and her family.

I’m sorry to hear of my Aunt Dolores’ passing. The last we spoke was in Sept 2012 when I called her to
tell her that her brother Alexander had passed. I’m disappointed to have never known her or my cousins. Thinking of you. Please reach out, if interested.
