Tribute
It is with great sadness that we announce Don’s passing on December 14, 2014 in Osoyoos, BC at 84 years of age.
He went to be with his Savior peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.
Don was predeceased by his father and mother Albert and Martha Blimke and his brothers Cecil and Art Blimke. Left to pray for his eternal rest are his beloved wife of 61 years, Sheila; children Janet, Patrick, Allan, Lynn, Susan, John (Patti) and grandson Kevin Blimke; brothers and sisters Bernard (Yvonne) Blimke, Errol (Joyce) Blimke, Rita Demers and Irene (Bill) Zyha.
Following a long and successful career with Transport Canada at the Edmonton International Airport, Don retired to Osoyoos, BC where he built their dream retirement home. He and his wife Sheila have been entertaining family and friends there since 1990.
Prayers and visitation will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday December 17, 2014 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Osoyoos.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Dave DeSouza at 10:30 A.M. Thursday December 18, 2014 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Interment and committal will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery.
Donations may be made in Don’s memory to the BC Cancer Foundation for the South Okanagan.
