On Thursday, January 4, 2018 Mr. Donald (Don) Jack Barr of Oliver passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the McKinney Place Extended Care Unit at the age of 78 years. He was predeceased by his first wife, Roberta in 2007. Don will be fondly remembered by his current wife of eight years Coleen Barr, his adult children- Wayne, Daniel, Kevin, Greg, Lance, Janine, Lisa, and Kyle as well as his 25+ grand children and great-grandchildren. Don was born in Edmonton, grew up in Alberta and BC and, outside of sometime in Ontario, spent most of his adult life BC, moving to Oliver in 2000.
Don had a very strong, lifelong, faith in his God Jehovah, and as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, from a young man, he always took a strong lead in the local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, helping and comforting many over the years. He will be missed for now, until he sees the realization very soon, of his lifelong hope of everlasting life on a cleansed, paradise earth.
There will be a memorial for Don at the Oliver Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on this Saturday, January 13 at 2 PM and all are welcome.
