Donna Chadderton

Tribute
Donna Chadderton (nee Munro) died peacefully in her sleep at her home at Mariposa Gardens. She is predeceased by Don, her husband of 58 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Anne Hildebrand, Jody Chadderton (Tom Makowichuk) and Jill Fisher and grandchildren, Jaimie Hildebrand, Ben Hildebrand, Devon Fisher and Linnea Munro.
Donna was born and raised in Victoria, B.C, and met Don, the love of her life, in junior high. They both graduated from Victoria High School. Donna took nurse’s training at Royal Jubilee Hospital and began her nursing career in Victoria. After an extended holiday in Europe, Donna returned to Victoria and dated Don, who by then had begun his banking career in New Westminster. They married in 1954 and moved around the province as Don advanced his career. Their longest stay was in North Vancouver where all three daughters went to high school and where Donna worked in geriatric nursing.
Don and Donna moved to Osoyoos in 1997 and got involved in community groups including St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, Osoyoos Senior Centre Association, Osoyoos Festivals Society, OSS Breakfast Program, HOPE Cancer support group and the Arthritis support group.
Donna loved her family and her many special friends. She had a way of making each of us feel like the most important person in her life.
Donna moved to Mariposa Gardens in late October. Her positive attitude and sunny disposition made her popular with staff and residents.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sat., Feb. 9th at 2 pm at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church.
