Tribute
Doreen Jones of Oliver passed away peacefully at McKinney Place on Sunday March 13 at the age of 82 years. She was born to Stanley and Edith Lilian (nee Lathwood) Mobbs in Leicester England.
She is survived by her six children Kim (Merv), Lori (Jeff), Leslie (Tony), Gary, Steven, and Tracey, her many grandchildren, and by her dear friend Nina Giles and her family.
As a young woman, Doreen travelled extensively in Europe. With Nina at the wheel, she toured through most of the United States. Doreen was a wonderful, adventurous passenger but a terrible driver.
Besides travel, Doreen excelled in the arts. She loved painting and the theatre. She received voice lessons when young, and was trained as a coloratura soprano.
Truly, Doreen’s journey has just begun.
