Edward Kovarik

November 24, 1934 - April 20, 2015

Tribute

Edward (Ed) Kovarik was born November 24, 1934, in Austria and went to be with the Lord on April 20, 2015.   Ed passed away peacefully at Oliver hospital.   He was predeceased by his loving wife Sylvia in July of 2013, and his parents Ludwig and Hildegard Kovarik.  He is survived by his sister Lotte (Liselotte) Schindler, his niece Lisa Schindler, both of Edmonton, Alberta and a nephew Fred (Theresa) Schindler of Sunnyvale, California.

Ed enjoyed travelling and camping with Sylvia, together they spent many winters going south and in the summer you would find them in the mountains just across the border from Osoyoos being camp hosts.  In the earlier years of their marriage they had a house in Birch Bay and there Ed enjoyed going sailing and surfing.    Ed had a great sense of humor and could out of no where make a comment that made you smile and laugh.    Ed was a man of God and with Sylvia they attended many churches, ending at the Osoyoos Baptist church, where they attended many bible studies.

A  Memorial service will be held on May 23/2015 2:00 pm, at the Osoyoos Baptist church with Pastor Richard Andres officiating, a reception will follow.  A special thank you to the South Okanagan General Hospital for their loving care and support.  In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution in memory of Ed may be made to Desert Valley Hospice, Po Box 1261, Oliver, BC V0H 1T0.

I enjoyed my Uncle Ed’s sense of humor and infectious laugh. He was a proud Engineer and used his intelligence throughout his life. Ed shared his knowledge and exposed me to new ideas. We enjoyed the outdoors, and playing games together. I am grateful for having known Ed.
