Tribute
On Monday, May 10 Eileen Loraine Rupert (Strome) of Oliver passed away at the age of 87 years.
She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter Loraine (Duane) Mercer, son Melvin (Lesleigh) Rupert, two grandchildren, Cindy (John) Nunes and Brad (Tasha) Mercer, one grandchild Crusiano Nunes, sister Alice Lowe, sisters-in-law Hazel Strome and Helen Strome and many special nieces and nephews.
Eileen was predeceased by her parents Ezra and Louisa Strome, Five sisters: Dora, Pearl, Elma, Beatrice & Bernice. Also three brothers; Alvin, Herb and Walter.
Eileen was born near Engelfeld, Saskatchewan and on April 3, 1954, married Russell Rupert. In 1959 they moved to British Columbia.
Eileen enjoyed home life with her family including playing cards, watching hockey, and having the occasional yard sale. She had a deep appreciation for spiritual things. She loved people and there are many good friends who will greatly miss her.
A memorial service was held for Eileen on May 15th at 1:30 PM at the Oliver Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Chris Potvin officiating.
